Quite of few people have asked me about the different beauty products I use. (Hence the reason for the beauty related post) Lately, I have had to shorten the time it takes me to get ready in the morning. Blake is so busy when she wakes up, I have about 15 minutes (while she watches the traffic or Sesame Street) to ‘put my face on’ and look presentable for work. I LOVE makeup and skin care. If you want to know how to fix your hair, this is not the post for you. My hair dries straight and I never fix it. The below are tried and true products that I use everyday for my makeup and skin care.
Skin Care
- Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream (Peter Thomas Roth) – I have been using this all winter as a base for moisturizer. Apply to clean face before moisturizer. This keeps your skin hydrated all day. Price: $22.00 – $52.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- Renewed Hope in a Jar with SPF 30 (Philosophy) – This is a great moisturizer with SPF. The SPF is key. Apply after Water Drench Cloud Cream in the AM. Price: $39.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- {Splurge Alert} The Eye Concentrate (La Mer) – This is my splurge. But I LOVE IT. I never want “old looking” eyes. This has been the only eye cream that doesn’t peel off my face, and keeps my eyes hydrated. Keeping those fine lines away. Good news, you don’t use that much, and it lasts 6 months. Dab a pea sized amount around your orbital bone before applying makeup. Price: $205.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
*For night skin routine I use Rodan & Fields Hydration Serum, and the La Mer Eye Concentrate from above*
Makeup
- (Dior) AirFlash CC Radiance Booster Primer – This is step 1 in the application process. You shake it up, and spray it all over your face. I use a blender sponge or Pro Airbrush Blender to smooth evenly all over my face. Do not be alarmed if your eye brows and eye lashes look white. It wipes off easy with a Kleenex. Price: $50.00 Link to Purchase: HERE or HERE
- (Too Faced) Hangover RX Primer – This is an alternative to the above primer. I use this 2-3 times a week if my skin is looking tired or dry. I also use this ALL SUMMER to give my skin an extra layer of hydration. Price: $15.00 – $32.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- (Dior) Skin AirFlash Foundation – This is step 2 in the application process. You can shake and spray directly onto your face or use an airbrush foundation brush. Personally, I spray the foundation onto a Pro Airbrush Blender (on sale for $19) and then in a circular motion put it all over my face. Price: $62.00 Link to Purchase: HERE *Sephora also makes an airbrush foundation. It is not as full coverage and I only recommend using a brush to apply it. Price: $15.00 – $32.00 Link to Purchase: HERE *
- (Trish McEvoy) Instant Eye Lift– This is a miracle worker. This brightens and smooths the under eye area. It makes me look like I have slept a full 8 hours, when sometimes I only got 4. To apply make an upside down triangle starting at the orbital bone going downwards. Just out line the triangle. Use your ring finger to dab until blended. Price: $45.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- (Lancome) Star Bronzer Natural Glow – I have been skipping blush lately and loving the sun-kissed look of this bronzer. The color I use is Solaire. Apply in the areas on your face the sun normally hits (forehead, cheekbones, tip of nose…) Price: $38.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- (Laura Mercier) Translucent Loose Setting Powder – I have used this setting powder for 5 years. The translucent color means you don’t have to update your powder color when you get darker in the summer. Apply all over face to “set” foundation and bronzer. This lasts forever. Price: $38.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- (Stila) All Day Waterproof Eyeliner – This eyeliner is gold, and lasts ALL DAY. It is very easy to apply. You just hold your eyelid down and draw like you are using a fine tipped Sharpe. Price: $22.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- (Tarte) Lights, Camera Lashes Mascara– This mascara makes my lashes look fake. It lengthens, curls, conditions and and adds volume to my lashes. This is the only mascara I use. Price: $23.00 Link to Purchase: HERE
- To finish my everyday skin care and makeup routine I use Make Up For Ever’s Mist and Fix Setting Spray. If you want to give it a try there is a travel size that is only $14.00, but after seeing how it extends the life of your makeup, you will probably purchase the full size. Lastly, I am not a big lipstick or lip gloss gal, mainly because my hair gets in lip gloss or Blake wipes it all over my face. My ‘go to’ lip color is FRESH Sugar Lip treatment. It comes in so many tints. My personal favorite is Rose. It is SPF 15 and only costs $24.00. You can purchase HERE.
