Having a “toddler” is so much different than having a newborn. Blake is just shy of 16 months old, and she is always very busy. Over the past 16 months I have learned A LOT. Entering the toddler stage has been a huge learning period. Below are some of my tried and true Blake & Mom Approved products.
For Eating:
Bowls that stick: Munchkin makes a set of three bowls that can suction to any flat surface. These have proved to be AMAZING for yogurt and they (actually) stick. You can purchase the ones we use here.
Wagon Wheels Food: This brand of food is designed for kids to get a serving of veggies in every meal. Blake LOVES their Mac and Cheese with pureed carrots. The chicken meatballs are also a Blake favorite. You can find them at Target or Whole Foods.
Take and Toss Silverware: This plastic (inexpensive) silverware allows Blake to feed herself out at restaurants without us being worried of making sure we remember to bring it home. She is very independent, and it is less dangerous than using the restaurant silverware. The packs come with forks and spoons and you can buy them here.
Contigo Water Bottles: These water bottles are kid sized and they do not leak. Blake has 3. You can purchase them here.
For Bath and Bed:
Halo Sleepsack– We have used Halo Brand sleepsacks for months. They are cozy and eliminate the need for extra blankets in the crib. Recommended by infant and toddler sleep consultants. You can purchase them here.
Triple Paste – This butt paste was/continues to be a life saver for us. It is a tad pricey but lasts forever. I put it all over Blake (post bath) before a long night’s sleep to avoid any diaper rash! You can purchase here.
Bath Books- Blake loves reading. And we have found some bath books that either have finger puppets or that come with the rubber version of some of the animals. THESE ARE AWESOME. We have this one.
White Noise Machine- Last holiday season we were traveling quite a bit. So instead of taking the iPad/Bose Speaker combo, I purchased the Sound Machine from Sharper Image – linked here. It works great!
Blackout Curtains- DARK DARK DARK is the secret to a good night sleep for a little one. You can purchase blackout curtains anywhere. I got Blake’s at target and they keep her room dark.
Miscellaneous
Sound Puzzles – They sell these at target. And Blake LOVES them. They are great for learning to match and to learn animal sounds. You can order them here.
Soft Toddler Chair– Blake doesn’t sit still very often. I got her a plush animal toddler chair and she now sits in it every morning and afternoon to eat her snacks and watch a movie. You can purchase here.
Nike Grip Socks- These are the only socks that stay on Blake’s feet. In addition to being stylish they have grips on the bottom that help with avoiding slipping. You can purchase here.
Netflix– Without Netflix I would never be able to get ready in the morning or cook dinner in the evening. Netflix has an awesome kids section. Blake’s current favorites are: Boss Baby, Sing, Secret Life of Pets & Moana.
Crayola Color Wonder Markers – These are great! They only color on special paper. Blake is just learning to “draw”, so these are great for helping her learn while keeping our walls and floors clean. You can purchase these here.
