I did a post when I first started the blog about traveling with Blake. Spring forward 4 months and Blake is a toddler and traveling [with her] has changed so much. In the next 3 months Blake is going to be on 12 flights. I have spent the last week mentally packing and preparing for these long weekend trips with our crazy and independent toddler. Below is a look into what I am packing for our upcoming trips with Blake.
For the Plane
Snacks/ Snack Container – I am packing her favorite veggie dip flavored crunchies from Gerber, and Honey Nut Cheerios. Shop the snack container we use
here.
Aquatic Hand Held Game – I purchased one of these for Blake at the aquarium but I found one at Bass Pro Shop (
here) that is the exact same. She loves to do things herself, and this doesn’t have batteries or sound so I thought it was plane friendly.
iPad – MUST HAVE. I have downloaded her two favorite movies ( SING & Trolls).
Contigo Water Bottle – I have had this on the blog multiple times, but it is a great water bottle that doesn’t leak. Shop it
here.
Soft Fleece Blanket – Any cozy blanket will do, this is for (fingers crossed) a plane nap.
Lysol Wipes- To (as best as you can) wipe down the area of your seat, floor, seat back, window.
For the VRBO
Halo Sleep Sack – I go with the multiples rule for bedtime. 2 of everything. I am taking two sleep sacks in the invent we have a diaper malfunction. (Also, taking two pairs of PJ’s) You can shop the sleep sacks
here.
4 Moms Breeze Play yard – This pack n play is easy to set up, and comes with a travel bag. Instead of renting a crib, I am bringing her pack n play from home. I also have the sheets for the mattress (they are super soft). You can shop the 4 Moms Breeze
here.
Summer Infant Portable Booster – This is perfect for a travel highchair and beach chair. It doesn’t take up a lot of space and can fit in a suitcase. Shop ours
here.
Sharper Image Noise Machine – White noise is a MUST for sleep times. You can shop ours
here.
Blackout Curtains – I purchased a travel pair for $18 on Amazon, to make sure the room Blake is sleeping in is as dark as possible.
Take & Toss Silverware – Blake is very independent. I packed here forks and spoons so she can still feed herself like a “big girl” even on the road.
Hooded Bath Towel – Any toddler towel will do, Blake just happens to only have hooded towels.
*Also I packed 3 of her favorite books to read before nap and bed time!*
Extras
UPPAbaby G-Luxe Travel Stroller – This is the travel stroller we have. I did purchase the travel bag. It isn’t flimsy and the handles do not feel short for me (most travel strollers make me hunch over). You can shop it
here. (Currently 20% off on the Nordstrom Sale)
Cat & Jack Rain Gear – I purchased her a Cat and Jack Raincoat (
here) and rain-boots (
here) because the forecast shows rain where we are headed. With a headstrong toddler, this will allow her to play in puddles without ruining her sneakers or slipping in her sandals.
In addition to the above I will be packing the necessities:
(2) sets of clothes per day
Car Seat & Travel Bag – Travel Bag was purchased last year at target.
(2) pairs of shoes- Sneakers & Sandals
Brush
Travel Baby Shampoo and Lotion
Wet Ones
Boogie Wipes
Lovie (stuffed animal for bedtime)
Triple Paste – THIS IS MAGIC to avoid diaper rash at all times.
Motorola Baby Monitor – We have a travel digital monitor so we can keep an eye on her.
Hopefully the above helps anyone who may be traveling with a toddler soon. I will make sure to post an update on what worked and what didn’t when we get back!
Happy Traveling!
