ADULTS ONLY – the theme of my second ever trip to North Carolina. Mike and I got our first weekend away and we headed to North Carolina for a quick weekend with friends to celebrate the boys getting inducted into their college Hall of Fame. We landed {early} Friday morning at RDU, rented a car and hit the road to Greenville. Full disclosure, Mike and I LOVE Bojangles. If you have never had it, you are missing out.  Our first stop from the airport was non other than Bojangles, for a quick second breakfast before heading to our friends new house. Below is a list of the place visited on our weekend trip.

SupDogs– This place screamed college, and I loved every minute of it. It is located down the street from ECU in the heart of downtown Greenville.  The menu features a variety of hot dogs, burgers, etc. The men of the group crushed burgers and dogs, while I treated my self to a classic burger and a SupCrush.  What is a SupCrush? A delicious {boozie} treat that tastes like orange Fanta, and after drinking two you will feel super warm (as we sat on the roof and it was pretty chilly). Link to Supdogs here.

Halo Home – After enjoying our non-healthy lunch we headed down to the most adorable home store. Halo Home was all decorated for Christmas.  They have a huge selection of art, rugs, jewelry, furniture – you name it. They offered us wine or beer ( I mean how sweet) while we shopped. I ended up snagging some super cute one Christmas Ornaments that were handed painted. Leah bought a lamp.  If I lived near North Carolina, you better believe I would be furnishing my house from this place. Here is the link to Halo Home.

Dickinson Avenue Public House (DAP House)–  This was the destination of our group dinner for Friday night. We sat at a long high top table – which was great as there were 14 of us. The menu was small but delicious. We started with appetizers for the table.  My favorite were the chilli nachos – SO GOOD. Over half of our group ordered burgers for dinner – they must have been delicious because they sold out before the night was over. You can check out DAP here.

Pitt Street Brewing– We stopped and had a drink at Pitt street while waiting for our table at DAP House. This place was huge. In the front you could order and lounge- I also saw dogs so I assume it was dog friendly. If you walked up the ramp the back part housed live music and a patio where you could play corn hole. Here is the link to the brewery.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House – Wow. The insurance this place has must be amazing. After dinner we walked down the street to Stumpy’s.  Stumpy’s in a BYOB, hatchet throwing house. It was $20 per person and you could throw for an hour. It was kind of like dangerous darts. We got two lanes to throw hatchets at wood palette targets.  This was so much fun, and super dangerous the more people drank. I would advise not going with a group of guys who haven’t seen each other in a while. It was intense. Here is the link to Stumpy’s.

Duck Donuts–  Breakfast of champions. After a night of shenanigans donuts were exactly what I needed (I also went back to Bojangles).  This cute donut shop lets you design your own donuts and they are made to order. SO many delicious options.  Here is the link.

R & R Brewing– After the Hall of Fame induction we headed over to a new brewery in Mount Olive, R&R Brewing. There were a few people inside when we got there but it quickly got crowded with all of the alumni and their families. Very cute place, but the beer wasn’t my favorite. However, they had a food truck outside, fire pits, big Jenga, and corn hole. This was a great place for every to hang out and catch up. Link here.

We left North Carolina very full.  I felt like we just ate and drank the whole time.  It was a wonderful weekend away with friends.  Shoutout to the Lovett family for all the hospitality and letting us crash at their new house. If you are ever in the Greenville area hopefully you hit up some of the above spots.

Happy Traveling!
