For those of you that don’t know, the Kicia 3 will be the Kicia 4 come August. With all the excitement (and sickness) that this pregnancy has brought, there have also been a lot of changes I have had to make. For example, my skin care routine has changed. This time around my skin has been DRY. Which is crazy, because we live in the most humid climate. After months of trial and error and checking ingredients (to make sure they are safe) I have found what products are working for me (right now). I have linked them up below!
Skin care Routine:
Kate Somerville Cold Cream Cleanser – I use this in the shower to take off my make up with out stripping my skin. I have had dry skin this time around and this has helped to keep my skin soft (unlike my typical Neutrogena make removing wipes). You can shop it here.
Dermalogica Special Cleaning Gel – I know you are probably thinking TWO cleansers? But I have noticed a major difference in my skin when I use this after the Cold Cream Cleanser. This is a soap free cleanser that leaves my face feeling clean. You can shop it here.
Clinique Take the Day Off Make- Up Remover – No matter what, I am always left with some mascara or eyeliner left on my face. I use this gentle eye makeup remover just to take off the excess makeup. You can use it before you shower and wash your face or after. I always do it after (I don’t really have a reason why). You can shop it here.
Post Cleansing Skin care
SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic – After my face is clean I have been using this product from SkinCeuticals. It has really helped with the effects of environmental aging. For me, that means it has helped with discoloration due to sun exposure and it has helped lessen the appearance of some fine lines. You can shop it here.
Dermalogica Super Rich Repair – As I mentioned previously my skin has been unusually dry with this pregnancy. This is what I use at night for my night cream. It is thick and really combats that dehydrated skin feeling. You can shop it here.
M – 61 Hydraboost Eye Concentrate – Eye cream has literally been the hardest product to nail down. Either they break out my under eye (cue my favorite La Mer product) or they don’t provide enough moisture. I have been using this for a few weeks now, and I am proud to report, no irritation and no dryness. This eye cream is packed with peptides and hyaluronic acid. You can shop it here.
Dermologica Nightly Lip Treatment – I bought this because I am too scared to get lip injections and because I am a mouth breather at night. So when I wake up my lips are almost always dry. I have loved this. I now wake up with visibly softer and hydrated lips. You can shop it here.
Bio- Oil – Last piece of the nightly (pregnant) routine is lathering myself up with Bio-Oil. This helps with the appearance of scars, stretchmarks, and uneven skin tones. I have loved it so far and it isn’t crazy greasy. I pick mine up at Publix, but you can shop it here.
Dermologica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 – I do not use this at night, but have been using it during the day. Because I am Mediterranean, I am more prone to getting dark spots on my face, cue being pregnant and it makes it worse. I have been using this in the morning for my daily moisturizer because of the SPF. You can shop it here.
This pregnancy has been drastically different than the first time around. I was sick for a solid four months and as I mentioned my skin has taken a beating. My plan is to keep this routine even after the baby is born (assuming my skin doesn’t change again). You can shop these most products at Sephora and Blue Mercury. If anyone has any questions about the above products feel free to send me a note.
