Pregnancy Round 2 – Q & A

img_5808Confession: being pregnant with a toddler is no joke and I have sucked at keeping up with blog posts.  Somehow, I am about a month away from having TWO kids.  Where did the time go? I have received a lot of questions about the second pregnancy and being pregnant while having a toddler. So I figured while I still have a some spare time (and I am still sleeping at night) I would hop on and answer some of the most asked questions.

Has this pregnancy been different from your first with Blake?

Holy has it been different! The answer, yes. When I was pregnant with Blake I never got morning sickness, this time I was sick (think feeling hungover and puking everyday) for the first 4 months.  I also haven’t been able to workout this pregnancy but the first time around I worked out up until about a month before Blake made her appearance.

Are you exhausted?

You would think the answer would be yes.  However, I am not a “sleepy” pregnant person. I wasn’t with Blake and I haven’t been this time around. I get sleepy at bedtime (which for me is 9 PM) but I am usually pretty good during the day.

Are you still working?

Yes, I will work up until the baby arrives.

What has been the most difficult thing this pregnancy?

That is tough. All around this has been a difficult pregnancy (for me).  Comparing it to the first time where it was a breeze.   I am not high risk or anything it has just been super frustrating not to be able to be as active.  When you have a 2.5 year old it really sucks not to be able to get down on the ground and do all the crazy stuff with them.

Does Blake know she is getting a sibling?

YES! We have included her in everything involving this baby.  We let her open the gender reveal box, we let her put some of her ‘baby toys’ in a toy box for the baby as well as some books that she wanted to give as well.

How much weight have you gained this time vs last time?

To be honest I gained about 40 lbs the first time around and this time its looking to be about the same.  I will say I feel way more heavy this time and I am super uncomfortable all the time.  Shout out to the girls who are like 5 feet tall, I have no idea how y’all handle this.

Are you having a natural birth?

If you mean am I trying to be a hero without an epidural? The answer is no. I will get the epidural as soon as they tell me I can.

What/ if anything are you using for stretchmarks?

Bio Oil – I like it, hasn’t stopped me from getting them but I think its keeping them at bay!

Have you had any serious food aversions?

I will say I haven’t wanted to be anywhere near seafood. And tomatoes and bananas have made me puke the whole time.

Are you nervous?

Heck yeah. I am terrified to figure out life with two kids while making sure Blake feels like she is still important. Good news though for the first few weeks my parents and Mike’s parents will be here to make sure Blake gets ALOT of special attention. Bad news, it is still going to baseball season so when all the family leaves it will be gong show.

Do you have any advice for first time moms?

Oh! I am the worst at giving advice because I freak out about every little thing (just ask anyone who knows me).  I would say go with your gut and make sure that you try to enjoy even the super tired moments because it really does go by fast.  Also, don’t get on Instagram and compare your postpartum journey to anyone because not everything on social media is real life.

I will be doing another post (hopefully) before the baby gets here on what is in my hospital bag and what are my new baby must have’s.  So stay tuned!

*Disclaimer, pregnant brain is a real thing, so I apologize in advance if any of my answers don’t make sense, are missing words or are spelled incorrectly*
